Allen Schmeltz Productions provides Private and Semi-Private (two students) lessons and Workshops. Lessons and workshops include a periodic showcase performance of student’s progress. Semi-Private students will be paired with those of an equal ability, age and experience. Lessons are 60 minutes length. Workshops are two hours.

All lessons and workshops are taught by Elly award winning director Allen Schmeltz.

SYNOPSIS

It is the goal of Allen Schmeltz Productions to provide instruction for young people and adults that allow them to become "real" on stage. It is not about how to act but how to stop "acting" and start "being." This is accomplished through theatre games, improvisation, monologs, scene study and analysis, and building on the strengths of each student and developing new skills.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private Lessons - $140 for four lessons after which students may continue at $35 per lesson

Semi-Private Lessons (two students) - $100 per student for four lessons after which students may continue at $25 each per lesson

General Information for Lessons

• A 10% discount is available for two or more students from the same family.
• Payment is accepted by cash or check and is due at the start of the four lessons and at each lesson thereafter.
• Refunds, credit or make up lessons will be given only with 24 hours notice of a missed lesson.
• Workshops are held at the Stage Nine Theatre, 717 Sutter Street or the Stage Nine Store & Gallery, 705 Sutter Street in Historic Folsom.

WORKSHOPS

Ongoing Scene Study & Improv Workshops for ages 10-14 are being conducted at the Stage Nine Theatre in Historic Folsom. In the workshops students learn how to perform scenes and do improvisation through the use of acting techniques, theatre games, and improvisation techniques. Having fun while learning is the theme of the workshops. Periodic showcase performances will be given.

General Information for Workshops

• The workshop tuition is $80 per month. In months were there are five sessions, the fifth session is free.  If you join the workshop in the middle of a month, that month will be prorated. Any months that have less than four sessions, due to holidays or vacations for instance, will also be prorated.
• A 10% discount is given to two or more students from the same family or to any student who is also taking private lessons from Allen Schmeltz.
• Currently there is a workshop on Friday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30. Other workshops may be scheduled so call (916) 646-9459 for the current schedule.  There is a maximum enrollment of 14 students in each workshop.
• Students may enroll at any time but must commit to a four-week session. No refunds or credit are given for missed workshop sessions.

Workshops are held at the Stage Nine Theatre, 717 Sutter Street or the Stage Nine Store & Gallery, 705 Sutter Street in Historic Folsom.
